Meredith Taccetta, DC
Dr. Meredith Taccetta grew up on the East Coast in Virginia, where she attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences. During that time, she developed a love for the weight room, exercise and functional movement. It wasn't until a few years after college that she even thought about the possibility of becoming a chiropractor.
The idea began while training for a bodybuilding competition in 2017, when she sought out treatment for injuries and pain associated with the rigorous training regimen. The relief she received from chiropractic care intensified her fascination with the human body. This led to a cross country move to Portland, Oregon where she attended the University of Western States to pursue her chiropractic education.
While at UWS, she completed a variety of seminars, stayed active in clubs, and tutored fellow students. She had the unique opportunity to treat patients at an off-campus clinic in her 3rd year and spent her internship working with patients involved in auto accidents and work-related injuries. Dr. Meredith utilizes a
multi-faceted approach to treatment incorporating soft tissue techniques, mobility and strengthening exercises, coupled with chiropractic adjustments. This outlook allows for aiding patients in their recovery of injury, but is also meant to provide them with a foundation to prevent further recurrence.
She is passionate about getting patients back to their daily routine and the activities they love, while also looking for ways to better their quality of life for the long-term. In her spare time, Dr. Meredith enjoys weightlifting, CrossFit, cooking new recipes, reading books, spending time with her fiancé, and taking her dog to the park. She looks forward to working with you!
Stephanie Arthur, L.Ac.
Stephanie Arthur, LAc. received her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2013. She is licensed by the Oregon Medical Board and Nationally Board Certified by the NCCAOM to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine, as well as advise clients through dietary, nutritional and lifestyle guidance. Currently, she is pursuing advanced studies in orthopedic and sports medicine acupuncture, working towards certification through the AcuSport Education Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification (SMAC) program.
Stephanie knew at a young age that she wanted to work in a healing profession. She was influenced to study medicine through her mother, a registered nurse, and her paternal grandmother, who wanted to become a doctor but was unable to attend
college. Her grandmother studied medical texts for fun, and was enthusiastic about nutrition, supplements, and the natural treatments of disease. Stephanie’s mother attended nursing school while Stephanie was in junior high. Her mother would sometimes get Stephanie involved with helping her study for exams, discussing health topics with her, and even inviting Stephanie to her Anatomy and Physiology lab. Both of these women played a huge role in influencing Stephanie’s love for medicine and service. In her early twenties Stephanie felt called to study the healing arts and discovered a strong affinity for the study of Traditional Chinese medicine. She has experienced the effectiveness of Chinese medicine firsthand and uses it to manage her own health and the health of her loved ones. She has deep admiration and respect for this beautiful, gentle, yet strongly effective ancient medicine system.
Stephanie is passionate about helping clients reach their health goals and improve their quality of life. She uses acupuncture, myofascial release techniques, herbal medicine, nutrition, exercise and stretching to successfully aid clients with acute and chronic pain conditions, headaches, women’s health issues, autoimmune and digestive disorders, stress, anxiety, PTSD, and a wide array of internal medicine conditions. She specializes in treating all kinds of pain conditions related to acute injuries, chronic degenerative pain conditions, motor vehicle accidents, and workman’s comp cases. She particularly loves to treat radiculopathy, low back pain, stress, and PTSD.
In the practice of Chinese Medicine, each condition can have many possible patterns as the root cause. Stephanie takes time to look at the individual as a whole in order to pinpoint the unique pattern(s) involved. She uses an individualized and holistic approach to determine the root cause of these patterns by not only taking symptoms into consideration, but also how these symptoms may relate to the overall functioning of the organs, a person’s diet, emotions, lifestyle management, exercise habits, posture imbalances, physical constitution, and family genetics. She believes in treating the individual as a whole person, versus a group of symptoms.
When Stephanie isn’t practicing Chinese Medicine, she enjoys spending her free time with family, hiking, going to the coast, gardening, practicing yoga, listening to music, cooking healthy food, and traveling.
